In 2012, JBM Construction Development Group assembled an Advisory Team of Building Industry Professionals employed by national and international industry leaders to assist us in the development of on-going, low cost training for Small Business entities and Construction Professionals who want to learn solid Construction Business Management techniques to grow their businesses and become more viable as an industry competitor.

The courses cover all phases of the Construction Process, including Preconstruction, Construction, Post-Construction and Close-out. A "Self-Assessment" is also included that will help our students develop a basic outline for an internal 'Strategic Plan'.

I am a 30-year veteran of the commercial construction industry having worked for some of the world’s largest Commercial Construction Firms. A short list of noteworthy projects includes:

Project Manager, FEI Construction for the Deanwood Community Center and Library in Northeast DC.

Business Development Coordinator, Hill International, and Project Manager on GSA’s Nationwide IDIQ; General Services Administration (GSA), Public Building Service, Nationwide and Project Engineer, U.S. Supreme Court Building; Architect of the Capital.

Team Superintendent and Assistant Safety Coordinator, Balfour Beatty Construction (formerly Centex Construction Company), managed the construction of the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Hospital, National Institutes of Health (NIH); $400 million Clinical Research Hospital: 1.5 million sq. ft. Superintendent of Dulles Technology Center, 177,000 sq. ft. office building on 13 acres; as Project Manager of their Prosperity Medical Office Plaza a 150,000 sq. ft. medical building and 300-car parking garage.

Project Engineer and Assistant Superintendent Turner Construction Company Phases One through Four of Maryland Center for the Performing Arts; Assistant Superintendent and Safety Coordinator for KPMG, Tysons Tower II, 10-story office building; and Engineer for Thetford Properties’ renovation of 400 low income residential units in north central North Carolina.

Project Engineer , Essex Construction Company, University of Maryland Medical Systems for renovation of Neurology Administrative Offices and Patient care areas and Assistant Estimator for various firm projects.

My early construction experience, each foundational to my career, included roles as Project Manager, Superintendent, Architect, Staff Architect, Architectural Designer, Assistant Designer, Office Space Planner, Drafter and Mechanical Engineer for such organizations and firms as Hope Housing, Selective Construction Company, Piaskowy and Keller Architects, TAD Technical Services, Case Design Remodeling and VSE Corporation.

As CEO of JBM Construction Development my entrepreneurial focus has been in the Development of Horizons Construction and Trade Business Institute.
